BOOK THREE IN THE SERIES

For the first time in the history of gypsy jazz you can check out this exciting new rhythmic development. The Gypsy Jazz Latin songbook features the four most popular Latin rhythms being played today and comes with a double CD with over 125 minutes of Play Along music. Django was particularly fond of the Bolero. This gypsy rhythm form derived from his Spanish cousins in Anderlucia was a great source of inspiration to him and his song "Troublant Bolero" is still very much apart of the gypsy jazz "standards" repertoire of today.

The most popular new rhythm for both audiences and musicians specific to this particular guitar style has been the development of the Gypsy Bossa. Since the early 1990's songs like Dorado Schmitt's "Bossa Dorado," Stochelo Rosenberg's "For Sephora" and Robin Nolan's "Number One" have made a significant impact on the genre. Through the global influence of bands like the "Stochelo Rosenberg Trio" and the "Robin Nolan Trio," latin tunes are now very much a part of the gypsy jazz songbook. This has been a significant development. Up until this point in time the QHCF swing and waltz rhythms were the only rhythms played with the exception of Django's "Troublant Bolero."

RNTB 3 has been divided up into four rhythmic categories. 1) the Gypsy Bolero, 2) the Gypsy Tango, 3) the Gypsy Bossa and 4) the Gypsy Samba. These rhythms are just great to play and consequently continue to become an increasingly popular part of the ever expanding Gypsy Jazz repertoire.

Many thanks for the speedy delivery of books 1-3. Glancing through them I understand the comments I've read about your books. The simplicity is exquisite, the artwork is well done and the attention to detail is refreshing. Thank you for investing the effort and commitment necessary to share your knowledge of Jazz Manouche.

Having worked my way through your Play Along Books / CD's Volumes 1 and 2, I'm currently working my way through volume 3 - the series is absolutely fantastic and from pretty much a standing start I'm thrilled with my progress. Already looking forward to Volume 4 - PLEASE DON'T STOP THERE ! Keep it going to Volume 10 at least.
